tummy rumbles

This is actually an old post from my LJ blog but I upated it a bit. I don't know but I'm just constantly thinking of food these days! And these are some of my Zamboanga favorites.

This is called "SATTI". It's a Muslim dish made of very hot chili sauce (the best part, really) with itsy pieces of beef barbecue on sticks and chunks of steamed rice which was cooked while wrapped inside palm leaves leaving it compressed. YUMMY!!!
(it's actually a street food... notice the chipped plate?)

Baked Clams served with butter and garlic sauce and enjoyed at an open air restaurant by the sea. The sea breeze is enough to make me finish off about three orders of this.

The "Bilao"... a mix of traditional Pinoy fare. There's daing na bangus, baked clams, dried chicken adobo wings, inihaw na baboy (i love the taba!), grilled longganisa, and green mangoes with bagoong. It's a hypertensive feast that I can devour with three cups of rice... BURP!

I'm actually allergic to seafood but it's never stopped me from eating prawns. I love them! Especially fried prawns with butter & garlic... delish!
