At least I still have my ankles

I think my "honeymoon" is almost over.

For the last 10 weeks, I've been enjoying my pregnancy. The first three months were a bit shitty... I complained a lot. Then my second trimester kicked in and I was like, "Wow, so this is how it feels... I'm going to be a mom..." But around the end of last week, I began to really feel pregnant.

As I mentioned in a previous post, my tummy's quite big now. I'm also feeling its weight. I have to heave myself off the bed or chair if I need to get up. If Je is around, I ask him to pull me up. Then there's finding a comfortable sleeping position. Pre-pregnancy, I used to sleep on my stomach but I can't do that anymore. I was advised to to sleep on my left side to help prevent hemorrhoids and swelling in my legs which happens because the baby's weight compresses on some major vessels that are responsible for drainage, causing fluid to pool in the lower extremities. But I sometimes get cricks in my neck for lying down in one position too long. SIGH. And then I also have this ache around my inner thighs and groin area. At first, I thought it was just from all the walking. But, nurse that I am, I did a bit of research only to find out it's not as simple as that. Apparently, the bones in my pelvis have stretched and slightly separated causing the dull pain. It's not going away until I give birth. Just wonderful. And, as much as the hubby and I are enjoying our baby moving around me, there are moments when his positions or acrobatics are actually very uncomfortable.

I still have around 14 weeks to go and I don't know what other aches and pains are coming my way. But I'm very thankful to the Lord though because health wise, I'm doing very well. My BP's optimal, my blood sugar's great, no UTI's so far and I still have ankles! :)
