My Weekend

Happy news! My sister-in-law Kate gave birth to a healthy baby girl last Saturday at 2:15 am. A new addition to the family! I saw an MMS photo of baby Kloie and she’s a replica of her mom. What I’m happiest about though is that Je finally called his sister. He’s been harboring a major tampo on her for several months already but it finally ended last Saturday. Babies really are angels on Earth… bringing people together to celebrate a new life. Thank you, Lord. And Sweetie… I‘m so glad. Mwah! :o)

Well, I spent Saturday watching movies I’d missed while I was still in Riyadh on DVD (pirated!). I viewed Spiderman 3 and Pirates of the Carribean: At World‘s End. Ummm… Spiderman 3 was okay but the middle part seemed to drag a bit. I found myself itching to hit the scan button on the remote to get to the more exciting parts. But Pirates was a blast if only for Captain Jack Sparrow. His antics were funny as ever! I felt a little sad though about Elizabeth and Will. Anyway, at least napanood ko na rin. Then in the evening, my sister and I watched season 1 of Heroes. Of course we weren’t able to finish all the episodes that night.

On Sunday, we continued with Heroes. My sis-in-law Karen was supposed to have lunch at our house but she couldn’t get away from her host. A friend of hers from work, who’s also from Zamboanga, resigned recently and had invited her & two others to visit the city and to go to Dakak. They went last Friday and came back Saturday evening… overnight stay lang. Then yesterday, her friend’s mom wouldn’t let them go off on their own so she wasn’t able to come over for lunch. We met up in the evening for coffee instead but didn’t stay out too long because it started to rain again. It’s been raining here for almost two weeks already, on and off the entire day. But I’m not complaining especially since Luzon has been experiencing an extended dry season. We’re lucky here.

So, that was my weekend. Nothing exciting but a happy one. Oh and I got to eat a lot of durian and lanzones that my parents brought home from my uncle’s farm… yum! :o)
