Since he became three months old, my baby Jeolo has been trying every morning to turn over on his tummy. It was cute to watch him struggle and cry in frustration because he couldn't do it. I would have liked to have given him a helpful push but my grandmother advised me not to. According to Filipino superstition, if someone helps a baby turn supine, the baby will grow up lazy. She said that's what happened to my uncle (her eldest son) that's why he's such a sloth, hehe! So, I decided to follow her advice, silly as it may have sounded. I've got nothing to lose, anyway. :o) Back to Jeolo though. Yesterday morning, he finally succeeded, yay!!! Problem was, he didn't know what to do with his arms and legs and couldn't really hold his head up for very long. He ended up lookng like a fish out of water, hehe! Still, it's wonderful to watch him growing up so fast. Pretty soon, he'll be crawling... oh no!

I remember when my daughter finally turned over, she had been trying for so long. When she finally did, she was actually kind of annoyed because she hated being on her tummy. Thanks for bringing back that memory for me.
ReplyDeleteyou're welcome! my baby's the same... he keeps turning over now but gets mad once he's on his tummy. :o)
