Yesterday, I brought Jeolo to the photo studio to have his passport picture taken. And it was crazy! How do you get a 4-month old to stay still and to look at the camera long enough for the photographer to get a nice, clean shot? Well, you can keep calling his name, clap your hands, shake a rattle at him, wave incessantly, make funny faces... In short, make a total fool of yourself. :)
After about 15 shots (thank God everything's digital now!), we finally managed to find a good enough image that would pass DFA standards. I'd post the picture here but I don't have a scanner. Maybe in one of my later posts.
hi! i happened to come across your blog and wondered if you could help me. How are you applying for your son's passport? Don't you have any problems getting an nso authenticated birth certificate? I was planning on applying for my 4-month old baby's passport but was told that getting the nso authentication would be hard since the baby isn't 6-months old yet and the birth certificate is still in transit somewhere in one of their district offices. How did you go about yours? I would really appreciate your advice, thanks!
ReplyDeleteHi! No, I didn't have any problems with the NSO. Even if the NSO doesn't have your son's birth in their records because the local Civil Registrar hasn't forwarded it to them yet, all you have to do is to bring with you his original birth certificate. You have to inform them that your purpose is for passport application. They'll then give you some kind of certification that they'll attach to the original that you have which you can then show to the DFA when you apply.
ReplyDeleteHope that helps! :o)
thanks for the info but its really hopeless at this point. I asked the DFA how soon the passport could be processed, 7-8 working days is the fastest they could do. I needed the passport before the 22nd of this month but I guess its not meant for my baby to travel yet. Thanks so much!
ReplyDeleteThat's too bad. Well, maybe your baby can join you next time. :o)
