“Much unhappiness has come into the world because of bewilderment and things left unsaid.” ~ Fyodor Dostoyevsky
Sometimes, no matter how straightforward we believe ourselves to be, there are always things that we leave unsaid out of tact, embarrassment or fear. Taking my cue from Grace, I'm going to cheat a bit and say a few of the things that I really want to say to a few people who are, or were, in my life without mentioning any names.
• Thank you because being with you taught me that the truest kind of love is the one that lets go.
• I know you’ve forgiven me for what I did but I still can’t forgive myself.
• No man is ever worth taking your life for. Now you’ve passed on and he’s moved on.
• I just can’t understand how you can look at the world with so much negativity. I’m glad I’m not you.
• You SO deserve to be happy. If only you could start believing that, too.
• I dream of you sometimes and I wonder if life is treating you well. I pray it is.
• You keep saying that you don’t care what people think but your actions say otherwise.
• I was sincerely extending my hand in friendship but you chose not to take it. Too bad.
• You could have any woman you wanted if only you stopped being such a jackass.
• Stop getting into new relationships until you learn to complete yourself. No man is going to do that for you.
• You are the wind beneath my wings.
• So your previous relationships left you with some scars; stop using them to guilt men into not leaving you. It’s all that excess baggage that makes them leave, sooner or later.
• My crying is not a sign of weakness or fear. It’s my way of letting things go or else I’d have smacked you senseless by now.
• As trite as this may sound, you do make me want to become a better person.
