at last

We're home at last, woohoo! :e

Our flight left punctually last Sunday at 9:30 pm Riyadh time and was expected to touch down in Manila after approximately 11 hours with an hour's stopover in Hong Kong. To our pleasure, we landed nearly an hour earlier than scheduled and were also able to breeze through Immigration due to the absence of the usual long queues. After waiting for about 45 minutes  for all our baggages, we hired an airport taxi to drive us home to QC. Good thing the traffic in EDSA was still relatively light at a little past 1 pm so we didn't have to suffer through too many stops and gos. We reached our final destination at around 2 pm and were met by our happy family and a lunch of pork adobo and lechon kawali. :D

After catching up on kwento for nearly two hours, we took a nap until nearly 9 in the evening, had a late dinner, unpacked and tried to go back to sleep. Jeolo was able to snooze again by 11 pm but I stayed wide awake until the wee hours of the morning since my internal clock was still running on GMT +3:00. I was finally able to doze off to a fitful sleep interspersed by an LSS of Defying Gravity (I will officially hate that song for about a week or two, hmpf!) at around 3 or 4 am.

This morning, we got up at 10:30 already but still felt like zombies. I do hope we'll be able to get over our jetlag in one more day or two so we can concentrate on enjoying the rest of our vacation.
