old soul

This past week, I found myself listening to mostly old songs. And when I say old, I mean OLD. My iTunes has been playing Frank Sinatra, Nat King Cole and Louis Armstrong. I find it keeps me relaxed and sane. Much as I enjoy all kinds of music, especially rock/alternative, it's these old greats that would top my list... if I were asked to choose. Perhaps it has something to do with the feeling of being a child again, safe in the warm cocoon of home. I spent my youth waking up to these songs since my dad always played them on the stereo. Life is so much different now. I'm not that young girl anymore. I'm a wife and a soon-to-be mom and there are days when I get scared of everything that's ahead of me. But listening to the music and voices of these legends are enough to calm me down and give me a measure of peace...

...right before I start fretting again, hehehe. :o)
