Of Testimonials, Rainbows and Unicorns

I've been wanting to make testimonials for some of my friends who are in my Friendster account but I always dawdle, promising myself I'll do it next time… and the next… and the next… well, you get my drift. But I was finally able to do it today so I'm happy.

.....

I was doing some random blog-hopping last night and I came across this one from a 15-year old girl living in New York who lost half her family in the 9/11 attacks. Presently, she's living with her aunt and her two sisters in a pretty challenging situation. What got me most is how her entries start with "Mama…" It was enough to bring tears to my eyes. The way she writes is heartfelt, vulnerable, candid and full of the optimism of a young person. It makes me ashamed of myself when I sometimes let little things get me down when so many other people have it much worse but keep on going anyway.
