I finally had my first real glimpse of our baby last night when I had my 4D ultrasound. It was an exhausting, more for the sonologist than for me though, three hours as we waited for the best and clearest view of Baby Josh's face. I'd already mentioned to the doctor that our little bundle has this tendency to turn away everytime we get an ultrasound. And true to form, after allowing us a very brief glance of his profile (to my and my sister's & mom's delight!), he quickly covered his face with his tiny hands. Jeez!!! So the Doc decided to check on other parameters while we waited, all the while hoping our little imp would change his position. And he did. When we checked him again, he was now lying prone and all we could see was the back of his head. It was probably another hour of my turning to my left, my right, lying flat and standing up to no avail. My sonologist even asked me to take some chocolate to give Josh a sugar high. Nothing. My sister played dance music on my phone and placed it against my tummy. Nada. She finally asked me to walk around the hall for 10 minutes.

While I was pacing up and down the hallway, I called the hubby and gave him an update of my on-going ultrasound and complaining about how hardheaded our tyke was. We started pointing fingers at each other... I told him Josh took after him kaya sutil and he retorted our baby got it from me. Hahahaha... obviously he got it from the two of us! :o) I even put him on speaker phone and let him talk to our boy, in case that would help.

When I got back on the table, there was finally some progress! We could now see a bit more of his face since he'd moved his hands away slightly. He was opening and closing his tiny mouth and even stuck out his tongue twice... It was so funny! And we even got a smile! It was soooooooooooooo WONDERFUL!!! How I wished Je was there... he would have gone nuts over it.

I feel a lot more relaxed now after seeing our naughty baby last night, even if the most we were able to see was an oblique view of his face. Everything seems completely fine with him and with me. Except my doc told me to watch my diet because he's pretty big for his AOG. Apparently, my small bump belied what really lay beneath. It's mostly baby with just an adequate amount of fluid and a thin layer of fat. Oh NO! But I've definitely fallen equally in love with the new little man in my life. :o)

Here's a peek of our litsy bitsy baby boy. This is just a scanned copy of the polaroid shot because the CD copy comes after a week. They have to edit it and stuff. I'll post it once I have it.
