We all have certain persons in our lives who give us strength. Someone who bolsters us when we're weak, helps us find ourselves when we're lost and helps us get up again when we've fallen. It may be mom or dad, a husband or wife, a boyfriend or girlfriend, our best friend. Somebody. But sometimes, we lose that someone. And the pillar that held us up crumbles to dust. And we feel that we can't go on.
"I need the strength you always gave me. I can't seem to find it on my own."
It's something many of us go through in times of loss or grief. We may think that we've lost the strength that kept us going through all of life's vicissitudes. But we do have that inner strength. Think about all that we have gone through, what we have coped with, and look… we're still here… standing, breathing, surviving. Just remember that we are strong and resilient. Our support may be gone but it is the support…not the strength because it's something that's innate in all of us if we only realize that. Pain, suffering, loss or tragedy may weaken our soul a little but in time we will recover that ability to thrive in life.
And there's one support that never leaves us. God. "Cast all your anxiety on Him because He cares for you." 1 Peter 5:7
