the new Bruce Banner

Fan-girl Mode: ON.

I was so excited yesterday when I found out that it had been announced at Comic-Con 2010 that Mark Ruffalo would be playing The Hulk in the upcoming The Avengers movie. :e

Many are skeptical if he can pull it off but all I have to do is remember his characters in Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind as the brainwipe pothead Stan Fink and as the tormented Brian Reilly in What Doesn't Kill You to know that he can. He's played many complex roles in indie films and that makes me sure he's going to be great as Bruce Banner.

I'm also optimistic that the director, Joss Whedon, who's used to creating and directing ass-kicking characters for TV, will be able to bring to life, with his mostly A-List cast, The Avengers.
